After Two Years of Break World Triathlon Series Returns To Bermuda
The International Competition is open now for registration
After a two-year hiatus, triathletes from around the world will touch down once again in Bermuda for the World Triathlon Series (WTS), Nov. 5-6, 2022. Registration for the event is now open at bermuda.triathlon.org/register.
Known for its pink sand beaches and unique island culture, Bermuda also boasts incredibly challenging terrain, making this event one of the most rewarding in the sport. Triathletes ranging from novice to advanced who are hungry for a post-pandemic challenge are invited to join. Individual swimmers, cyclists and runners interested in competing as a relay team are also encouraged to enter. In addition to the hundreds of triathletes taking part, fans will once again be able to line the racecourse throughout the City of Hamilton, cheering on Bermuda’s hometown heroes and future triathlon champions.
“The long-awaited return of the World Triathlon Series to Bermuda’s shores is finally over,” said Hazel Clark, Director of Global Sales and Business Development for the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) / World Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championship in Bermuda (WTSBDA). “With all the excitement around Bermuda’s triathletes on the world stage representing best-in-class performances, we couldn’t be happier than to keep the momentum going right here at home. We anticipate the streets in the City of Hamilton to be lined with supporters.”
With Dame Flora Duffy — Bermuda’s gold medal Olympic triathlete in Tokyo, XXI and XXII Commonwealth Games gold medalist — leading the charge for Bermuda’s triathletes on the international stage, the development of future homegrown champions has exploded in both popularity and importance. Accordingly, the WTS Bermuda features the island’s youth competing in a kids’ duathlon, in which up-and-coming athletes will run-bike-run their way down the famed blue carpet.
Registration categories include:
- Standard Distance Age Categories ranging from ages 18 to 70+
- Sprint Distance Age Categories ranging from ages 16 to 70+
- Kids Duathlon Categories ranging from ages 7-15
To sign up for the WTS, visit bermuda.triathlon.org/register. For athletes who registered in 2021, the WTS Bermuda organising committee advises that correspondence will be shared directly with each registrant based on contact information submitted last year. Instructions as to how to proceed with joining this year’s event will be included.
