Pups & Pastries Event at Gansevoort Meatpacking - New York City
A stay here is proof all dogs really do go to heaven. The iconic Gansevoort Meatpacking Hotel, which arguably put the Meatpacking District on the map almost two decades ago, has recently unveiled a multimillion-dollar renovation where guests and their furry friends can sleep in style with a luxe dog bed, food and water bowls, a toy, and other fun perks.
For National Dog Day on Friday, August 26th, the hotel is hosting a popup puppuccino bar at European-inspired cafe, Coffee + Cocktails, offering treats from local NYC pet shop Beasty Feast alongside puppuccinos for furry friends. Reservations are from 5 PM - 8 PM but those that arrive at 4 PM, will get a chance to meet adoptable dogs from PupStarz Rescue that will be on site.

Waggin’ with Walker Hotels (Greenwich Village and Tribeca) - New York City
Walker Hotels, with two properties located in iconic New York City neighborhoods, Tribeca and Greenwich Village, are the ideal destinations for experiencing the hustle and bustle of the City with four-legged family members in tow. Greenwich Village: In partnership with a local neighbor, Biscuits & Bath, Walker Greenwich Village will offer discounted boarding and walking services.

Pup Beach Picnic Package at Marram Montauk - Montauk, NY
Marram Montauk wants you to bring your furry friends to the end of the world with you. Kicking off National Dog Day on August 26th through the end of November, Montauk’s newest boutique hotel is launching a special beach picnic package with treats for both dog and owner. The talented team behind the South American café, Mostrador, helmed by Argentinian chef Fernando Trocca (La Huella, Jose Ignacio, Uruguay) will be serving up eats for humans and pups alike. The package will include a Mostrador lunch for two, including homemade pastries and a pitcher of lemonade as well as locally made gourmet dog treats.

Puppy Brunch at HOWM Cocina + Cocktails - New York City
Running every Sunday through National Dog Day on August 26th is HOWM Cocina ’s Puppy Brunch. Dishes include Avo Toast, Pan Dulce French Toast and Churro bites for people and for pets, Doggy Meatballs, and a Puppy Frosty.
Guests can also expect activities and products from some of NYC’s favorite pet brands:
- Pet Valet: Experience the brand new pet assistant app servicing dogs across NYC with your pups wellness top of mind. The team will be on site offering $5 walks for pups at brunch.
- Dog City: Dogs can enjoy a new toy from Pet City, the one stop shop for pet services and needs located in the heart of Chelsea.
22% of the proceeds from each brunch will be donated to Animal Haven NYC so that even more deserving pups can find their forever homes.

Shinola Hotel - Detroit, MI
Shinola Hotel, the luxury boutique hotel from Shinola and Bedrock Detroit, is located in the historic Woodward shopping district with its five on-site F&B venues by Chef Andrew Carmellini’s Noho Hospitality: San Morello, Evening Bar, The Brakeman, Mr. Dips and Penny Red’s welcomes all furry friends. Dog friendly amenities include luxe beds, two bowls, treats and a fun door hanger that reads “furry friend inside.” The hotel does not charge a pet fee.

Maison de la Luz - New Orleans
Maison de la Luz, a 67-room guest house that opened in New Orlean’s Warehouse District is a nod to the city’s multifaceted history, down to its hybrid French-Spanish name. Designed in partnership with Studio Shamshiri, the property features ornately designed rooms and suites boasting towering ceilings and curated amenities. Guests don’t have to say au revoir to their pet friends to stay: the hotel offers lush doggie beds and bowls along with in-house gourmet food at treats by the Chef James. $125 fee for pups under 25 lbs with no dee for certified service animals.
