Hapco began as part of a larger plastics manufacturing company with divisions in the housewares and food service industries. In 1978, the food service division moved into hospitality supplying ice buckets, trays, and wastebaskets to a major hotel chain. In the spring of 1979, we built molds and began production, presenting proposals to several hotel brands and soon found ourselves supplying many of the major chains in the country. We began a long partnership with the industry as a trusted supplier. In 1988, the division making hospitality products was put up for sale and the current owners worked with local banks in Baraboo and the state of Wisconsin to fund the purchase of the business. In October of 1988, Hapco Inc. began production, servicing its hospitality customers out of a 6,000 square foot building. In 1990, Hapco Inc. moved into a new building at its current location. In 1995, we acquired the Elmar Manufacturing company which specialized in high-end leatherette room amenities to give us the capabilities of providing a full spectrum of products. Over the years we have added technology and state-of-the-art capabilities in production to allow us to respond to the requirements of our customers. The only products not made here in our plant are our new Brushed Metal Stainless Collection, added as a convenience for our customers. As our industry continues to react to environmental issues, Hapco Elmar Inc. actively contributes in many ways. We recently launched sustainable Certified Green Recycle products. Our manufacturing facility is heated almost entirely with waste heat, reducing our carbon footprint. We recycle 98% of our waste, scrap and reject material into a line of specialty products. We are proud to have been a supplier to the industry for over 40 years and look forward to continuing that relationship by supplying quality products at competitive prices, based with responsive service.
