Job Description For Room Attendant

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing Rooms:

• Ensure all guest rooms, dormitories, and common areas are cleaned and sanitized daily.
• Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and windows.
• Make beds and change linens as required, ensuring they are clean and neatly arranged.
• Replace used towels, linens, and other items in rooms as needed.
• Check and restock amenities like soap, toilet paper, shampoo, and other toiletries in guest rooms and restrooms.

  Cleaning Common Areas:

• Maintain cleanliness of public spaces such as lounges, kitchens, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors in common areas regularly.
• Ensure garbage bins are emptied and the area is free of litter at all times.

  Guest Services:

• Address any special cleaning requests from guests promptly and professionally.
• Report any maintenance or housekeeping issues to the supervisor or management, such as broken furniture, plumbing problems, or electrical issues.
• Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to guests, ensuring a positive experience.

  Health and Safety Compliance:

• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, ensuring a safe environment for both guests and staff.
• Ensure that cleaning products and chemicals are used safely and stored according to regulations.
• Ensure the hostel complies with all local regulations regarding cleanliness and safety.

  General Maintenance:

• Report any damage or issues with furniture, fixtures, or equipment in the guest rooms or common areas.
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs or fixing minor items, if required.

  Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other housekeeping staff, supervisors, and management to ensure the hostel is well-maintained and the standards of cleanliness are met.
• Assist in training new housekeeping staff as needed.

  End-of-Shift Duties:

• Ensure that all assigned areas are clean, tidy, and properly stocked before the end of the shift.
• Prepare the hostel for the next day by setting up the necessary items and cleaning tasks for the following shift.
