Emirates Culinary Guild Team Returns Triumphant Champions from FHAM 2024 Global Culinary Challenge 2024 Malé, Maldives
The Emirates Culinary Guild is pleased to announce that the United Arab Emirates' team of young and senior chefs has emerged victorious and champions from the recent Food Hotel Maldives 2024.
Dubai – September 2024: The Emirates Culinary Guild would like to announce that the team of young chefs and senior chefs have returned triumphant and champions from the recent Food Hotel Maldives 2024 representing the United Arab Emirates.
These competitions are so important for preparing our culinary teams for international competitions also gives them a great opportunity to perform on the international culinary stage.
The team was made up of young and senior chefs from our Abu Dhabi chefs led by Guild Asst Vice President Chef Peter De Kauwe from the Club Abu Dhabi, Chef Sanjeewa Chamil from the Radisson Blu Hotels YAS Island and our Chairman of Abu Dhabi & District.
The team won the following accolades during the 4 days competition, A total of 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze medals, 4 best in class trophies and best national team trophy
Chef Dinesh Hashan: 3 Gold ,1 silver, 1 bronze medal and 2 best in class trophies
Chef Ishara Mayanga De Silva: 2 Gold, 2 Bronze medals and 2 best in class trophies
Chef Tharishma Madushanka Mendis: 2 Silver and 1 bronze medals
Chef Nishan Nayana Kantha: 2 Gold medals
The team also brought home the Best National Team Trophy once again for the UAE.
Guild President Andy Cuthbert added “we can’t be more proud of these young chefs and their hard work and dedication has paid off once again with trophies and gold medals, we were lucky to again have our great competition partner Sounbula Mills support the chefs through sponsorship. President Cuthbert thanked Mr. Karim Al Azhari, from Sounbula Mills for their continued support to the Guild and the Chefs as without it we would not be able to send chefs globally to competitions.

About the Emirates Culinary Guild
The Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG) (www.emiratesculinaryguild.net) is the association of professional chefs of the UAE. It is a non-profit-making organisation, organised by volunteers dedicated solely to the advancement of culinary art in the UAE.
The World Association of Chefs Societies (Worldchefs) (www.worldchefs.org) is the 105-nation fellowship of the world's various professional chefs' organizations.
The ECG received its charter into Worldchefs at a ceremony in Stavanger, Norway on June 28, 1994, during the Worldchefs 26th World Congress. Worldchefs endorses the ECG as the authorized professional culinary association for the UAE.
