Heritage and culture come to life at Vida Beach Resort, Umm Al Quwain, with exceptional artworks. Vida Hotels and Resorts is driven by creativity and artistry.

Dubai, UAE, May 2021 Vida Hotels and Resorts is rooted in art, and the much anticipated, recently opened Umm Al Quwain resort is no exception. Located on the idyllic beachfront, Vida Beach Resort, Umm Al Quwain, is the ultimate destination to unwind. A stunning design-led resort, the hotel takes inspiration from its beautiful surroundings, bringing to life the spirit of Umm Al Quwain through a series of stunning artworks and art installations peppered across the hotel.
The perfect escape for culture vultures and art aficionados alike, at Vida Beach Resort, Umm Al Quwain, creativity awaits to be discovered around every corner, thanks to a series of masterpieces crafted by local and international talent. Curated by the team at 17A Art Consultants, who immersed themselves in the rich heritage and stunning landscape of Umm Al Quwain, every piece of art pays homage to the Emirate, whilst also promoting sustainability and the unique Vida identity.
Upon entering the property, guests are greeted by a stunning Heritage Wall. A curation of pieces inspired by tradition with a modern edge, the Heritage Wall houses canvases and figures from a variety of artists. A one-piece that attracts attention is the vibrant watercolors by UAE-based artist and architect Muhanad Al Nassiri, who adds a contemporary illustrative element to traditional dhow boats and forts. The eye is also drawn to delicate ceramic recreations of traditional pottery, lovingly crafted by a locally commissioned artist, as well as the'Royal Jar'and the intricate Khoos ornament fashioned from palm leaves. These were masterfully woven by Emirati craftswomen, working in association with the Al Ghadeer organization, who aim to offer work opportunities to underprivileged women through sustainable crafts.
Continuing on a journey of arts and culture, the All-Day-Dining area houses British artist Justin Castaldis lumber display. Roaming the shores of Umm Al Quwain, he sourced his piece by collecting humble driftwood which he cleaned and sanded to form a smooth canvas. Inspired by elements of the local architecture, he then hand-painted designs onto the wood that showcase the simplistic beauty of the native buildings.
Enhancing the ambiance of relaxation in the Spa Lobby is Stephanie Neville's stunning embroidery of the Umm Al Quwain mangroves. The contemporary visual artist's piece is delicately stitched, forming a textural, aerial view of the unique foliage. As an advocate for global mangrove awareness herself, Neville's work contributes to both her mission and the design of the space.
Vida's creativity and artistry further come to life through the imaginative works of Stephen Chambers. Guests can get lost in Chambers' Kid's Club mural, which imagines stylized regional animals frolicking in a mangrove. A hand-painted wooden balloon installation accompanies the mural, created from upcycled frame off-cuts of other artworks.
Capturing the splendor of Umm Al Quwain through her lens is international photographer, Alex Raynaud. With photography showcasing traditional dhows, native Socotra cormorants and refreshing coastal waters, guests can immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of the Emirate from the comfort of their guest rooms and chalets.
Sustainability sits at the very core of this project, with every framed piece of art connected to One Tree Planted. The organization generously planted one tree for every single frame they supplied. Additionally, the resorts succulents are sourced in support of Enable, an organization providing entrepreneurial skills for individuals with cognitive disabilities.
An oasis of inspiration and relaxation, offering the perfect escape, pack your bags and immerse yourself in a haven of creativity at Vida Beach Resort, Umm Al Quwain.
