Marriott International is seeking a Director of Brand, Marketing & Digital (DBMD) to lead the newly established Market Marketing Structure in Sydney. The DBMD leads and inspires the team to provide marketing, communication, PR, and digital marketing direction and expertise to the cluster of Select and Premium branded properties in market.The DBMD works in conjunction with above property marketing teams for portfolio-level and arealevel guidance. This role is the champion for developing and implementing the hotel's annual marketing strategy that drives positive image, awareness and customer preference; ultimately driving revenue to hotels. The DBMD will draw on their own expertise to help guide the team and portfolio of hotels, and should provide strategic oversight on how to engage customers across channels. The applicant needs to be savvy in all forms of marketing media and be able to tailor hotels' spend on these media in ways that meet changing customer expectations. The DBMD will enable their team to create and execute campaigns, and regularly assess the effectiveness of the hotels' marketing communications strategy, including public relations, advertising, electronic marketing, direct marketing, internal marketing, partnership marketing, promotions, graphics and collateral, so as to support the marketing objectives. The DBMD is the first point of contact for local or national media on all events going on at the hotel; likewise, this position is responsible for planning how to drive PR buzz about the hotel in local and national media. This responsibility also includes ensuring effective pull through and adherence to brand standards and guidelines, as well as tracking and reporting results. Working in partnership with diverse stakeholders in all disciplines and levels of the organisation, as well as owners, agencies and partners, this role collaborates, influences and educates teams in all marketing related activities. This position will also closely support the Area Director of Marketing (ADM) to ensure that the company vision is applied in Sydney as well as to ensure that property programming is aligned with brand standards, brand voice and fully utilizes all available tools and resources.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major or 8+ years of equivalent work experience; preference in minimum 2 years experience in this position or 8+ years experience in the marketing or related professional area. • Valid working rights in Australia • Strategic, highly influential with a collaborative mindset. • Proven ability to plan and manage budgets • Experienced managing teams, able to set right priority and handle multiple tasks/projects in a timely manner • Successful track record in senior marketing roles and stakeholder management. • Knowledge on Australian media landscape and influencers • Result-oriented and able to set strategy and process which considering cost and time • Successful Candidates Will Be Willing To: Work in close contact with the general public in sales and marketing situations that require strong communication and customer service skills. • Openness to adapt to different cultural contexts based on location • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required by business needs. Preferred: • Hospitality marketing experience. • Established portfolio of press and media contacts. • Experience in a matrix organization is a plus • A creative person who is sensitive to market trends and available technology
