Description
The Hotel & Villa Partnerships Manager (HPM) will report to the Regional Manager, Hotel & Villa
Partnerships (RM) and be primarily concerned with the account management of a portfolio of hotels
within The Americas region.
The HPM will be accountable for the product quality and commercial performance of their portfolio. They
will be expected to contribute to the wider partnerships team globally, ensuring the business continues
to invest in the areas of largest return, and contribute beyond their day-to-day role to the commercial
team and broader business.
Responsibilities
• Increasing commercial performance of existing hotel and villa partnerships through robust
account management, nurturing relationships in a style that is consistent with the Smith brand
• Managing contracts of existing hotel and villa partnerships, negotiating additional advantage
such as exclusivity, preferential inventory access and Smith Extras
• Ensuring competitiveness by improving and maintaining product quality, including rates, offer
depth and inventory availability
• Increasing profit margin and conversion rate of the assigned portfolio
• Leading all commercial discussions with hotel and villa partners, including their contribution to
ancillary programs, fees and commission levels
• Establishing and proactively engaging with key internal departments to positively influence the
portfolio's performance
• Driving a trading culture in the business by analyzing and understanding customer demand and
maximizing availability to satisfy that demand
• As required, curating & contracting hotels within the assigned portfolio through commercially
driven decision making and on the most compelling commercial terms
Qualifications
Requirements
• High level of commercial acumen, and an analytical and commercial mindset
• At least three years of account management experience, preferably within boutique or luxury
travel
• Established network of boutique or luxury hotelier and industry contacts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team, prioritizing a busy workload, multiple projects, hotelier
meetings and travel
• Understanding of hotel distribution, rates and inventory management
• Love of boutique travel and a keen eye for style and design
• Exceptional communication skills and an innate ability to engage people from all walks of life
• Attention to detail and exemplary follow up
• Analytical, data-driven decision making
• Familiarity with Google Drive or Microsoft Office (spreadsheet proficiency is a must), Salesforce
and quick adoption of new databases and systems
• Fluency in a second language to business standard (preferred but not essential)
• The ability to work flexible hours and occasionally travel internationally
• Must hold a full driving license
